Riding High Together Festival Photo Release

04/01/2018

The Riding High Together Festival, The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s annual flagship community event, ended today (1 April). The three-day festival with the theme “Let's Progress Hand in Hand” attracted around 45,000 people to Sha Tin Racecourse and Penfold Park during the Easter weekend where they enjoyed more than 70 “edutainment” activities.

On the last day of the festival, one of the “mentors” of the Club’s “Striding On” community betterment programme, champion boxer Rex Tso, made an appearance and shared his inspiring stories and heathy tips with festival goers.

Highlights of the festival included a successful attempt to earn a new Guinness World Records title for “Most People Painting Figurines”, where near 1,000 participants simultaneously painted horse figurines themed around the Club’s community contributions in 18 districts. Manchester United legend Bryan Robson met football lovers at “Pursuit of a Football Dream” and engaged in some football fun with them. Mobile Classrooms were featured in the festival for the first time, introducing a new educational concept and fun learning experiences for both parents and children. The festival also featured a number of performances and live shows, including a cappella, taiko, cheering team performances and equestrian demonstrations at Penfold Park.

Now in its fourth year, the festival’s activities were divided into ten zones arranged around five themes: Horse Encounters; Inspiration & Fun; Let’s be Active; Snap & Share; and Live Performances. This annual flagship community event has so far attracted  around 150,000 visitors since the first year.
