The countdown has begun for this year’s 15th National Games, 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games (NGD & NSOG). To build excitement and foster deeper community engagement ahead of the Games, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) joined a dedicated roving exhibition series today (30 August). The Club was also honoured for its role as sole Partner Sponsor of the Games’ in the Hong Kong Competition Region.
As a participant in the “2025 National Games Fiesta” roving exhibition series, organised by the National Games Coordination Office (Hong Kong) (NGCO), the Club will host a booth in shopping malls across Hong Kong from August to October. It will showcase the Club’s support for this year’s National Games, NGD & NSOG, as well as its contributions to sports development over the years, through interactive games and engaging activities provided by its CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team.
Ahead of the exhibition opening at Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza, a “2025 National Games Fiesta: Creating Victory Together” ceremony was hosted by the NGCO to express appreciation for partners’ and sponsors’ support of the Games.
The Club and its Charities Trust are providing a total of HK$450 million to support the National Games, NGD & NSOG in the Hong Kong Competition Region. The sponsorship will support volunteer service programmes, territory-wide community and school promotional activities, and initiatives enabling underprivileged groups and youths to attend the events as spectators. Four competition events have been named in honour of the Club, namely: National Games’s “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Rugby Sevens Competition” and “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Basketball (Men’s U22) Competition”; as well as NGD & NSOG’s “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Wheelchair Fencing Competition” and “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Para Table Tennis (T11) Competition”.
The Club is also supporting the National Games, NGD & NSOG in the Guangdong Competition Region through official activities, volunteer services and promotional work, as well as providing high-quality technical support for the equestrian events. For these initiatives, the Club has committed RMB50 million.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club is a world-class sports and entertainment organisation that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling. In 2024/25, the Club returned a total of HK$39.1 billion to the community. This included HK$30.1 billion to the HKSAR Government in duty, profits tax and Lotteries Fund contributions and HK$9.0 billion in approved charity donations. The Club is Hong Kong’s largest single taxpayer and one of the city’s major employers. Its Charities Trust is one of the world’s leading charity donors.
