In support of the National 15th Five-Year Plan and in alignment with The First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, The Hong Kong Jockey Club is pleased to announce that its Charities Trust has approved in principle a donation of HK$3 billion to support the construction of a Life and Health Academic Research Building at the Northern Metropolis University Town. The initiative follows HKSAR Chief Executive John Lee’s annual Policy Address delivered today (16 September), in which he announced the construction of an integrated teaching and scientific research building in the Northern Metropolis. The facility will focus on education, scientific exchange and nurturing research talent, and will provide shared facilities for tertiary institutions.

The Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China (EFHKC), in conjunction with The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club), announced today (11 September) the team that will represent Hong Kong, China in the equestrian events at the 20th Asian Games. Eleven horse-rider combinations have been selected to compete across all three disciplines — Dressage, Eventing and Jumping — in both team and individual competitions. The team brings together experienced riders and rising stars making their first Asian Games appearance, underscoring the strength of Hong Kong’s equestrian talent pipeline and the sport’s enduring tradition of passing expertise from one generation to the next.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club), as Exclusive Presenting Partner and Cultural Host, has proudly brought “CAVALLUNA – Gate to the Otherworld”, the acclaimed equestrian spectacular that has captivated audiences across Europe, to Hong Kong for its Asian premiere. The HKJC Opening Night was held at Kai Tak Arena today (10 September) celebrating the special bond between horses and humans.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is deeply saddened by the passing of The Honourable Tung Chee Hwa, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; and former Patron of the Club.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club concluded the landmark 10th anniversary and fifth edition of its PBC forum at West Kowloon Cultural District today (8 September). Convened over two days by the Club’s Charities Trust in association with the Institute of Philanthropy (IoP), PBC 2026 featured more than 80 eminent speakers and over 2,000 delegates from around the world. Under the central theme of “Leaping for Impact”, the forum brought together leaders from the philanthropic, sports, business, government, academic and social sectors.

The opening day of PBC 2026 took place at West Kowloon Cultural District today (7 September). Convened by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust in association with the Institute of Philanthropy (IoP), the two-day forum brings together some 2,000 delegates and leaders from the worlds of philanthropy, sport, business, government, academia and the social sector to explore the transformation, challenges and opportunities shaping philanthropy today.

To further promote sports for all and foster social cohesion, The Hong Kong Jockey Club has approved a donation of over HK$134 million through its Charities Trust to support the five-year Jockey Club Hoops Connect Community Basketball Programme. The programme also seeks to align with the 15th Five-Year Plan’s strategy to accelerate China’s development into a leading sporting nation as well as the Healthy China development strategy. The initiative will enable more young people to learn and practice basketball for whole-person development and character building, while strengthening community outreach for structured basketball training. To mark the official launch of the programme, a kick-off ceremony was held alongside the Philanthropy for Better Cities (PBC) Forum 2026 on 7 September.

Following its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today (2 September), The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) announced its results for the financial year ended 30 June 2026 (FY2025/26).

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) has pledged its full support to the Hong Kong, China team competing in the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Club Chairman The Hon Martin Liao together with Chief Executive Officer Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges attended the flag presentation ceremony today (1 September) to give the delegation a heartfelt send-off ahead of the Games. The Club will provide cash incentive awards for medallists at the Games.
