Admission arrangements for race meetings in 2022/23 racing season
As instructed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Club will stage race meetings in accordance with the government’s prevailing public health regulations and restrictions under Cap 599 starting from the opening of 2022/23 racing season on 11 September 2022. Jockey Club-supported Dunhuang relic exhibition showcases cultural treasures
The Dunhuang Caves are widely renowned as being one of the largest and most historically important Buddhist art relics in the world. A selection of exquisite artworks from Dunhuang will be displayed at "The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Dunhuang: Enchanting Tales for Millennium" exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum from 24 August until 21 November. Marc Van Gestel appointed Chief Stipendiary Steward following Kim Kelly’s retirement in January 2023
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Chief Stipendiary Steward (CSS), Mr Kim Kelly, will retire in January 2023. Mr Kelly joined the Club in 2002 and was appointed CSS in 2009. The Club has recruited Mr Marc Van Gestel as Mr Kelly's successor. Mr Van Gestel commenced his career as a Stipendiary Steward in 1992, becoming Racing NSW's Deputy Chairman of Stewards in 2006, and Racing NSW's Chairman of Stewards in 2016. The Hong Kong Jockey Club is the exclusive sponsor of “Creative Tomorrow”, the first-ever arts tech festival at the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD). It has come to the attention of the Club that a group of Off-Course Betting Branches (OCBBs) staff has initiated and organised a private gathering on 1 August with the participation of 43 employees. The Club has strict protocols to manage any public health risks in association with Covid-19.
