The Hong Kong Jockey Club is supporting youthfest@HK for the fourth consecutive year, with the 2026 edition launching today (28 July) at the HYAB JC Y Cube at Youth Square in Chai Wan. As the annual flagship initiative under the HKSAR Government’s Youth Development Blueprint, youthfest@HK provides a positive and inclusive platform for young people from diverse backgrounds to realise their potential, broaden their horizons and cultivate positive values, a strong sense of national identity and a global perspective. These experiences equip young people to meet future challenges with confidence. Since 2023, the Club has supported the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB) in delivering youthfest@HK through the Chief Executive’s Community Project List, with an annual approved donation of HK$10 million from the Club’s Charities Trust.

The Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China (EFHKC) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) today (27 July) announced that four horse-and-rider combinations will represent Hong Kong, China at the 2026 FEI World Championships in Aachen, Germany, from 11 to 23 August 2026. The team will compete in the show jumping individual competition and the para dressage individual and team competitions.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) today (18 July) signed a Deepened Collaboration Agreement (the Agreement) with the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government. Leveraging the world-class, equine-themed culture-sports-tourism activities to be staged at Conghua Racecourse as a starting point, the two parties will further develop the Guangzhou-Hong Kong Equine Industry In-depth Cooperation Zone (the Zone), as highlighted in Guangzhou’s Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan. The two parties will also promote the formation of a high-quality Guangzhou-Hong Kong Equine Industry Economic Cluster (the Cluster), thereby contributing further to the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Young people are a vital force for societal progress. To enhance upward social mobility among youth, and in line with the goals set out in the Government’s Youth Development Blueprint, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust launched JC YUP in 2025 with a donation of over HK$440 million. The project’s innovative strategy provides targeted interventions at the three critical development junctures in young people’s transition from school to work. It supports young people in building a sense of pride, broadening their career horizons and laying a solid foundation for a positive career trajectory as they begin their working lives.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) today (16 July) made a formal submission to the HKSAR Government during the public consultation period on The First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026-2030) (“Hong Kong’s first Five-Year Plan”).

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is supporting a major initiative to strengthen school sports development across Hong Kong through the Jockey Club School Sports Programmes, launched last year in partnership with The Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (HKSSF). As the first HKSSF initiative to receive funding from the Trust, the programmes aim to support the continuous enhancement of inter-school sports competitions while improving the quality, accessibility and sustainability of school sports across Hong Kong.

In recent years, the demand for mental health and emotional support services has become increasingly pressing. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has supported various online and offline emotional support initiatives. This includes funding the renovation of Suicide Prevention Services’ Ping Shek service centre. The upgraded facility expands its service capacity and enables the provision of more comprehensive support for vulnerable individuals, those at imminent risk and their families. The Suicide Prevention Services Jockey Club Ping Shek Service Centre was officially reopened today (11 July).

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) announced at a launch ceremony today (9 July) that this year’s JC Youth Football Academy Summit will take place from 10 to 17 August. The Manchester United Academy U16 squad will visit Hong Kong and join young local players in a week-long football and cultural exchange programme. The highlight of the summit will be two friendly matches, with young players from both sides showcasing their skills on the pitch.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) today (5 July) announced that its full set of six Certificate Racing Programmes has been successfully integrated into the Guangdong Qualifications Framework. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between Hong Kong and Guangdong Province to advance vocational education. At the same time, the Club’s Horse Racing Culture Courtyard officially opened at the Guangdong Vocational Institute of Sport (GDVIS). This new facility demonstrates the success of a strengthened “school-enterprise cooperation” model, exemplifying the integrated development of vocational education in the Greater Bay Area and supporting the establishment of a world-class equine industry centre.

On Wednesday, July 8 at Happy Valley, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club) is presenting a special race to capture a singular cultural moment: where the world’s love of football joins with world-class horse racing. As the football tournament enters the quarter-finals gripping the attention of billions, the Club is reframing the moment through the classic sports of horse racing. Eight thoroughbreds will race around the famous Happy Valley track in a trilling contest of speed and courage. The race, “Eight to Glory, presented by Lenovo”, will be staged as a vibrant competition, symbolising the final eight competing for honours in Happy Valley, turning one of Asia's most iconic sporting venues into the unlikeliest football stage on earth.
