Hong Kong’s achievements in racing and its reputation for business innovation mean that it plays an increasingly important role in world racing. Notably the Club's Chief Executive Officer, Winfried Engelbrecht Bresges is Chair of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), the global leader of the sport of thoroughbred racing, and Chair of the Asian Racing Federation (ARF), which comprises 28 national racing authorities and racing-related organisations from across Asia, Oceania, Africa and the Middle East. He is also Vice-President of the International Horse Sports Confederation (IHSC), founded by the IFHA and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).
