04/11/2024

The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced today (11 April) that it has offered over HK$2.5 million in immediate assistance through the Social Welfare Department (“SWD”) to meet the urgent needs of people injured in the Jordan Road fire yesterday as well as to the families of the deceased.

Emergency assistance is being provided as follows:
•  HK$150,000 to the family of each deceased person
•  HK$100,000 to each seriously injured person
•  HK$50,000 to each injured person in a stable condition

Apart from financial assistance, the Club's Charities Trust is working closely with the SWD and non-governmental organisations to offer necessary support to the affected victims.

The Jockey Club Emergency Relief Fund was established in 2010 to provide rapid assistance to victims of natural disasters, accidents and epidemics. It enables the Club's Charities Trust to respond quickly and flexibly to those in immediate need.
