The management of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Happy Valley Clubhouse (the Clubhouse) received from its Members late last night (22 November 2020) and today (23 November) four separate reports of positive COVID-19 cases. To safeguard the health of its employees and customers, the Happy Valley New Clubhouse and Happy Valley Old Clubhouse will be temporarily closed for three days from Tuesday, 24 November to Thursday, 26 November.

Based on our initial investigation, the four concerned persons visited the Valley Pool, 2/F Changing Rooms (19 November), The Rock (19 November) and The Eighth (during a preview operation – 15 November) at the New Clubhouse and the Six Furlong and The Gallop (11 November) at the Old Clubhouse respectively.

The temporary closure will enable the Clubhouse to complete the identification of customers and employees who have been in contact with the confirmed cases on the Happy Valley Clubhouse premises. The Clubhouse is arranging for the identified employees to undergo COVID-19 testing, and will continue to reach out to those customers who have come into contact with those confirmed cases in a timely manner.

As our established practice, the Clubhouse facilities are cleaned and disinfected every hour with deep cleansing being done after business hours on a daily basis.

The Clubhouse management will review the pandemic situation and take appropriate actions as needed before re-opening the Happy Valley Clubhouse.
