CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT
This year marks The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s 140th anniversary – fourteen decades of standing alongside the people of Hong Kong. Throughout our history, we have not only brought the thrill of world-class horse racing to fans across the city and beyond but, more importantly, made lasting contributions to social progress.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER’S STATEMENT
This year we celebrated the Club’s 140th anniversary with a truly record-breaking showcase of world-class racing. Horse of the Year Ka Ying Rising cemented his position as the world’s top sprinter with a record-equalling eight wins in a season, including four Group 1s, to take the Hong Kong Speed Series. Romantic Warrior’s globe-trotting exploits, coming on the back of an extraordinary performance in the 2023/24 season, made him the world’s highest-earning racehorse. Voyage Bubble became just the second horse in Hong Kong racing history to claim the Triple Crown. And competing against the strongest contingent of overseas runners in ten years at the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races and FWD Champions Day, Hong Kong horses won five of the seven Group 1 races.
