12/16/2023

A presentation ceremony was held today (16 December) to award winners of the “Drago Cavallo. Youth Art Competition”, which received an overwhelming response. The competition was one of a series of Drago Cavallo (“DC”) activities launched through a partnership between The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) and renowned artist Simon Ma to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region last year, and bring creativity and positivity to the community.

The ceremony was held at the Tai Po Lung Mei Beach Festival. Club Chief Executive Officer Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges and Director of Home Affairs of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Alice Cheung presented the awards. DC Charity Foundation Chairman Simon Ma also joined the ceremony to congratulate the winners.

The Club had invited students from kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and universities, as well as special schools and organisations, to unleash their creativity for the “Drago Cavallo. Youth Art Competition”, and received almost 20,000 entries from over 320 schools and organisations. More than 600 shortlisted artworks were chosen for a Drago Cavallo World Tour and exhibited in Hong Kong and Shanghai in April and October, respectively.
