Jockey Club supports 17th Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest

Martin Liao, Deputy Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the Club), served as a judge and officiating guest today (17 May) at the final and awards presentation ceremony of the 17th Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest. He also presented awards to winning schools.

The Club has long been committed to nurturing students’ interest in international affairs as well as fostering their sense of belonging to the country and national identity. It has supported the Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest since 2009 and has sponsored student winners to join Mainland study tours. This year, the Club continued to serve as the contest’s Special Sponsor.

The contest is jointly organised by the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR (“OCMFA”), the Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government and the Better Hong Kong Foundation.

The Club is the Special Sponsor of the Hong Kong Cup Diplomatic Knowledge Contest. This year, the contest received an overwhelming response from almost 80,000 students from 289 primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong, setting a new record for the number of participants.
