Over 33,000 enjoy a fun-filled day at the Community Festival

The Club's 130th Anniversary celebrations with the community reached a high point over the Easter weekend, with over 33,000 people riding high together for a better future at the Community Festival held at Sha Tin Racecourse. Both young and old were inspired to strive for excellence in their own lives through taking part in the many different edutainment activities in nine different zones, including world record-breaking events and close encounters with horses inside Penfold Park. Many participants left with a renewed sense of what is possible, and a determination to dream bigger dreams and reach higher goals.

Over 1,000 local primary and secondary school students experience first-hand the power of working together to achieve a new record for the world's largest fingerprint painting to promote the Club's pioneering spirit of "Dare to try and innovate".

Zone 5: Enthralled by Ten Thousand Horses

A 10,000-square-metre installation art composed of over 10,000 papier mache eco-horse sculptures is expected to be eligible to set a Guinness World Record as "the largest display of recycled paper animal sculptures". The sculptures were made under the "Ten Thousand Galloping Horses, United With One Heart" Installation Art and Education Project, organised by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and funded by the Club's Charities Trust.

Zone 6: Pursuit of a Football Dream

Young footballers had the opportunity to meet and play football with Manchester United legend Denis Irwin during a professional football skills assessment that aimed to encourage them to showcase their potential in pursuit of their dreams. Those who showed exceptional skill won the opportunity to train with young players in England this summer.
