Further relaxation of pandemic measures in HKJC Riding Schools

10/09/2020

In response to the improving pandemic situation in Hong Kong and further relaxation of social distancing measures announced by the Government, the Club will re-introduce group lessons at the Tuen Mun and Pokfulam Public Riding Schools. Additionally, Beas River Equestrian Centre Riding School will open again for Members to book lessons; also including group lessons. Services including lead rein lessons and larger group activity (pony rides, parties, stable tours etc.) will remain suspended until further notice.

The new measures will take effect from Tuesday 15 September 2020.

To comply with Government regulations, our riders are reminded that all those visiting the riding schools must wear a mask at all times, other than when riding the horse. Additionally, they must not gather in groups of more than four people whilst at the school.  Other mandatory vigilance measures implemented previously such as temperature screening, hand sanitizing and completing the Health Declaration Form shall remain in place and the Club will continue to observe stringent standards and high frequencies of cleaning and sanitation.

To ensure the ongoing safety of the workforce caring for the horses, movement between different riding schools remains prohibited for the time being. To reduce the number of people on site, any accompanying persons attending with riders (such as parents or guardians) are limited to one per rider. Additionally, riders (other than livery holders) will not be able to enter the indoor stable barns. Horses and ponies will be brought to the paddock for mounting and collected again after dismounting.

The Club's Equestrian Affairs Department wishes to express deep gratitude to all those in the equestrian community who have been understanding and patient in waiting for our lessons to resume. We look forward very much to welcoming you back!
