JC Youth Football Academy Summit - Daily Snapshots (17 Aug 2018)

In the afternoon, Nicky Butt, Head of Manchester United Academy and former player of the club, met with the coaches who participated in this year’s HKJC Pass It On: District Elite Coach Education Workshop. He then attended the Jockey Club Youth Football Academy Summit Tournament and met with parents and kids who attended the HKJC “Pass It On” Parents Workshop prior to the match.

In the evening, the Hong Kong District-All-Stars and the Manchester United Academy U16 kicked start the tournament at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground, with the former lost 1:2 to the latter in the 45 minutes game. In the second match, Guangdong U17 booked their place in the final with a 4:3 victory in penalty shoot-out over HKFA Academy U17, after 1:1 draw. In the final, Manchester United Academy U16 won the game 3:0 over Guangdong U17 and scooped the championship, while the HKFA Academy U17 conquered Hong Kong District-All-Stars to seal the second runner-up. The matches had attracted 1800 audiences to cheer for the teams with great passion.
