Develops the physical, mental and social capabilities of young people and fosters an attitude of excellence
In 2014, The Hong Kong Jockey Club partnered with Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and Manchester United Football Club to introduce the JC Youth Football Leadership Scheme to nurture and inspire football-loving youngsters, equipping them to become leaders in creating a better community. Through a basic football coaching course and a series of thematic workshops conducted by professional instructors, the programme aims to strengthen the life skills of youth players by improving their physical, mental and social abilities, both on and off the pitch.
This year’s programme has started in February 2023. Apart from inviting a number of renowned mentors and advisors from all walks of life to conduct courses and share their experiences, there will also be mountaineering training to bolster youngsters’ personal training and cultivate team spirit.
The Scheme invites a number of renowned mentors and advisors from all walks of life to conduct courses and share their experience. At the end of each year’s session, six outstanding young leaders are chosen to participate in a football cultural exchange tour to Manchester, where they participate in local community football activities to apply their knowledge and broaden their horizons.
